After two long flights, some hair raising driving, and several different languages and timezones...we've finally arrived in Kiev without any major hitches. Our facilitator met us at the airport, brought us to our apartment right near the main street downtown, and cut us loose for the evening. Not feeling too adventurous just yet, we grabbed a quick bite at T.G.I. Friday's (no really!) and are trying our hands at surfing the internet on computers with Russian versions of Windows. Fortunately for us, all the commands are in the same place, we just can't read them...and for some crazy reason, Cyrillic keyboards are also QWERTY keyboards, who'd have thought it!
Our only real news is that we think our appointment with the adoption center will be late on Thursday afternoon...right about the time everyone back home is getting out of bed for the morning! More to follow on that later, right now we're going to wander the streets of Kiev and get to bed at a decent hour!
(P.S.--Ali says to tell everyone at home 'HELLO from Ukraine!')

When we are looking to add to our family, we always look for the quiet one in the corner. They seem to be more grateful and dont cause as many problems as the ones that jump up and drool all over you. I hope you find one that doesnt shed. Watch those drivers........they are wild! I forgot to tell you all that! Wait till you see when you drive at night! :o) We got pulled over by a few police a couple of times, and it was kind of scarey!!! Don't worry! Teehee!
So did you think of us when you were eating at TGIF's? You all are in a nice part of town! We were far away on the other side of town! You will probably get a lot of shopping done! But, you all need to go to some of the markets, because they are fun! Also, you need to go to the Children's market before you leave, because they have things there so cheap! Wait till you see all the baby strollers! They are so pretty!
