Hello again...

Seems I could not log into our blogger account yesterday to make a post. So, I will back up a day and fill you in. We still do not have Ruslan with us in the hotel. Everyone fought me on that...seems "everyone" thinks it would be a bad idea to have him in the hotel for several days. Ugh...we really wanted to get him out of the orphanage.

We are currently waiting on his passport to be processed. We had an appointment with passport on Tuesday and had his picture made, etc. We are now being told that it SHOULD be ready either tomorrow or Monday. Please pray it will be tomorrow so that we can get to Kiev over the weekend and begin our meetings there on Monday morning. Can you tell I am ready to come home? :) T.C. made our returning flight reservations for next Thursday...pray it will all be finished by then so that we will not have any added expenses with our tickets! My mom will fly out on Tuesday morning. Pray for her as well...she is nervous to make the trip alone again. It was just more economical for her to use her return ticket and just pay a $200 change fee...where we actually had to buy all new return tickets for Ali and me. I told her..."just think about me...I will be flying alone with 2 kids"...that hopefully made her feel better. Ha! So one week from today we will, God willing, be landing on U.S. soil again.....and I think I might actually kiss it!!!!

We had a good visit with Ruslan Clark this morning. He took a pretty bad fall and got a goose egg on his forehead. Poor little man.....Mama had to give him extra kisses for that one.

T.C. is on his way to Florida (lucky dog) for a 2 day business trip to Kennedy Space Center. Something about there is a shuttle being loaded and he had to attend some meetings down there. You know...he so totally didn't have to rub that one in!! I was a tad bit envious.

Ali once again was able to bring some joy into the kids lives at the orphanage. They just LOVE her. Several children played with her on some play equipment for the longest time today. As they were leaving one boy kissed her on both cheeks...so cute. She will remember them forever...I believe. I hope it gives her a heart for orphans. There are so many beautiful children that need homes and love and they have such bleak futures. They may never hear the name of Jesus. Oh it just tears your heart out.

As you can see...I don't have much exciting news. Just know we are still coveting your prayers. Please pray we get Ruslan's passport tomorrow...and we can travel next Thursday! Love you all.

Hi Rachel & Ali,

Our prayers are still with you and your travel. I know that you are ready to come home.

The kids are saying their prayers and thinking of you all. They ask me daily, "when is Ali coming home".

The children orphanages just love all of the attention from someone. I remember when we visited Max & Anna, how many children ran up to us (with the big bows in their hair)and called us Momma & Papa.

Your news brings back such memories of Cheboksary & Moscow.

Take care and bring your children home soon.

Kathy

We will be praying that all goes smoothly for you! Thanks for posting so faithfully...we feel like we've taken this journey with you, in a way! We can't wait to see pictures of Ruslan at HOME!
May God bless and protect you all.
Love,
the Brysons

I pray that everything goes smoothly from now on with Ruslan Clark's passport. Rachel, I know you're disappointed that you STILL don't have him with you all the time, but perhaps it's best for him to leave directly from the orphanage for the trip home.

I cannot WAIT to see him for the first time and to see the three girls again. Seems like months to me since Alice left and I feel pretty safe in saying it must feel to y'all like you've been over there much longer than that!

It doesn't surprise me one bit that the children have taken to Ali - she's a special girl and I'm sure she keeps them entertained. Can they say "Elvis" yet, Ali? HaHa

I enjoy the blogs so much - keep them coming.

Love,
Millie (Biddie)

Hi my sweeties,

I know this has been a hard trip for you. I can hear the homesickness in your words. But you are so strong and have been so patient that this will all soon be over and the real joy will begin. I wish you could pack one of the kids with you and bring home to me. I always wanted a child. I looked at the pictures of you and the children and just cried. You all look so happy. I wish you all the best and wish for speedy return and I know all will go along as planned. You are constantly in my thoughts and prayer. Love you all even the little Ruslan even though I have not met him yet. He looks adorable. Look a lot like TC but Mr. Robbie says do not let him take after TC ok? Hee Hee. Love and hugs

Hi Rachel & Ali, Praise The Lord, there is light at the end of your tunnel. The years that we have all prayed for this adoption. Now, just a few more days and you will be back home. I am do excited I feel like telling everyone I meet.

My heart just breaks for those that will be left behind. I too pray that Ali will have a passion for orphans. I wish I had thought of adoption when I found out I could only have one.

We anxiously await for your safe arrival, prayers are going up daily. You are loved and missed here .... looking forward to seeing you real soon.

Ali, the GA's prayed for you and your new brother yesterday. They are so anxious to see pictures. I am going to print some of them to show. I too am so proud of you and the love you have shown the childen. :0) Hugs to you and your little brother.
Love Claudia

Hi Rachel and everyone!
What neat videos and pictures, I loved the website of all the pictures, it makes me "homesick" for the Ukraine! Hayley was in the room with me when we were looking at the pictures and the videos and she loved looking at the little girl with Russie! (by the way she is precious, how old is she?) She said, Awwww....Mama, does she need a Mama and Papa? I said, yes, probably? She said, am I in these videos, too? I said, no, we have the videos here at home! She loved all the pictures of her birth country! She is at the age, almost "5", that she is understanding more and more about the Ukraine and where she came from, and I can't wait till the day when we can take her back to show her everything and visit our friends!
We are praying, praying, and praying for you all to get all of your paperwork finished. Just enjoy the time that you have together in the Ukraine and take it all in, because you might not be able to ever go back.....you never know? God has a reason for you to be there and HE will take care of you there!
Your Flat/hotel room is soooooooo nice! Wow!
I am surprised that the adoption agency didn't have you all to buy the airline tickets that you all could book your plane date any day, and not be charged extra??
I bet Russie is getting so attached to you all, and you all are learning Russian by now!
Hayley is still calling us Mama and Papa and it will be 3 years in Sept. that we adopted her!
I am so excited for you all to reach Kiev to finally reach the Am. Embassy! It will seem so funny to pass everyone and go in. But, you are the Americans! Teehee! There are hardly any Americans that work there, though........except the people that work behind the windows! And then you will be so glad to hear AMERICAN voices!!!!!!!!
Well, thanks for all your updates and wonderful pictures and videos! Wow, technology has come so far just in 3 years when we did our website!
WE can't wait to see you all when you come to L-ville!
Take care and give Russie a hug!
Tell Ali her dance was great!

Pakka! :o)

Hi there! So sorry to hear about the passport issue. God in Heaven, please bring my cousins and aunt home quickly and safely. I can picture you kissing the ground as you step off the airplane in the grand ole U.S.A. No place like it..that's for sure. Keep holding onto faith because the Lord NEVER gives us anything more than we can handle. Yes, I'm with Millie...maybe it is best that Russie stays at the orphanage until things are completely squared away although I understand that you want him out of that place as quickly as possible. The Lord has His reasons for that and we should look at it as being in his plan so that you do not have to carry such a large burden with the language barrier...especially with all of the other issues you are facing. Hang in there girls..its ALMOST over and this will only be a memory. Continue to stay safe & remember we love you all.

hey Rachel.....
I almost forgot.....don't forget to get some seeds off the flowers at the orphanage! Like the marigolds! (Ukraine's national flower) Or you can get little packages of them everwhere around Ukraine, as you have seen already, I am sure! The Ukraine LOVES flowers! If you get a chance....buy some bulbs, also! If you can bring some extra packets home for the Bargers if you can, :o) We would love to have some more from the Ukraine! You are my only contact now that I know that is going over!
If you can.....no big if you cannot.
We will pay you for them. They usually have the seed packages in the groceries or the open markets!

love and (((((HUGS)))))
April and family!

Can't wait to talk to you!
